Biography

Louis was Ojibwe.

When Louis Phillip LaDuke was born on 25 May 1892, in White Earth Township, Becker, Minnesota, United States, his father, Agapet "Peter" Laduke, was 46 and his mother, Elizabeth Bellecourt, was 36.

Louis was a Native American, White Earth Mississippi Chippewa Tribe in 1905 at which time he resided in Minnesota. In 1917, tribe was listed as Ojibwe.

He married Elizabeth Bertine Bellanger on February 3, 1914 in Becker, Minnesota, and they had three children together.

Louis registered for the World War I draft on June 5, 1917 in Beaulieu, Mahnomen, Minnesota. Occupation was stock raising. He is listed as medium height, medium build, dark brown eyes, black hair and weak eyes.

Louis also registered for the World War II draft on April 27, 1942 in Dearborn, Wayne, Michigan. Occupation was mason contractor.

He then married Judith Balbena Roselia Heiser in 1928, in Minnesota, United States. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 3 daughters.

He lived in Norman, Minnesota, United States in 1905 and Island Lake Township, Mahnomen, Minnesota, United States in 1930.

He died on 10 February 1968, in SeaTac, King, Washington, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Washington Memorial Park, SeaTac, King, Washington, United States.
