Joseph Alexandre LaBossiere was born at La Prairie on July 13, 1853 and he was baptized there two days later. [1] He was the fifth child of ten and the third son of seven for Augustin Labossiere and Delphine Corriveau. He had one older half brother from his father's first marriage and also three other half siblings who had died young.

Joseph Alexandre Labossiere married Elise Pareau on Oct. 21, 1873 at Coaticook. [4] She was the daughter of Pierre Poreau and Josephte Lapre from St-Hyacinthe. Joseph and Elise had eight children born in the Coaticook and Stanhope area and then about 1888 they moved to New Hampshire and had one more child born there.

[6] Census Date: June 8, 1900. Their oldest son, Napoleon and his family are living next door and also their oldest daughter, Amanda and her husband, Alfonse Lepage.
1910 US Census New Hampshire. Coos, Berlin Ward 3 ED 58 Sheet B2 Lines 70-74: Fred Leage, 37 - barber; his wife, Maud (Amanda Labossiere), 37 - no children; Alexandre Labossiere, 56 - labourer; Elise Labossier nee Poreau, 56; their grand daughter, Elizabeth, 14. daughter of their son, Napoleon and Angie Ferrari who would soon divorce [7] Census Date: April 18, 1910.
1920 US Census New Hampshire, Coos, Ward 4, Berlin, ED 43, Sheet 3A line 19-22: Alexandre Labossiere, 66 - labourer, pulp mill; Elise (Poreau), 66; son in law, Fred Lepage, 41, barber; daughter Amanda, 41. [8] Census Date: Jan. 9-10, 1920.
Elise Poreau died at Berlin, NH on Oct. 3, 1926. [9] She was 73 years old.
1930 US Census New Hampshire Coos Ward 4, Berlin, ED 12 Sheet 9A Lines 9-15: Emile Olivier, 35 - surveyor, lumber yard; Eliza, (nee Labossiere), 34; four Olivier children: Lannier, 13; Robert, 10; Jeanette, 8; Doris, 5; Gr. Father-in-law, Alexandre Labossiere, 76, widower. [10] Alexandre is listed as the grand father in law of Eliza, See 1910 U.S. census above where Eliza is listed as a niece of Amanda. Census date: April 5, 1910.
Alexander Labossiere died at Berlin, NH on Dec. 10, 1930. [11] And he was laid to rest with his wife, Elise at Ste Anne Cemetery in Berlin, NH. [12] He was 77 years old.
