Death notice in newspaper on Aug 5 1890:

Nr, Felix Lagroue, father of Messrs. Joseph and Septime Lagroue, the well known steamboat clerks, died yesterday afternoon at the ripe age of 80 years. The deceased was a native of St James and for a number of years was one of the largest sugar planters in that parish. In the latter part of the fifties he removed to Jefferson City and soon after was elected city treasurer, which position he held for fifteen years., He leaves eleven children, five daughters and six sons. Mr. Lagroue was an honorable, worthy and in every way a good man, and was highly esteemed by all who had dealings with him. His funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon from his late residence on Jackson Street,
