Biography

Lorenz was born in 1907. He was the son of Johann Kuhlmann and Marie Stutheit. He passed away in 1992.

Frieda Clara Wilhelmina Hitzemann Kuhlmann, daughter of Henry W. and Marie Heussman Hitzemann was born Feb. 10, 1910 in Nemaha County, NE. She was one of seven children.

She was baptized at her parents home, Feb. 27, 1910 by Rev. E.F. Geyer and confirmed Sept. 14, 1924 at St. James (Long Branch) Lutheran Church by Rev. E.F. Geyer.

She received her education at Dist. 45, Mt. Zion rural school in Nemaha County, NE. May 3, 1934 she was united in marriage to Lawence Adolph Kuhlmann at St. James Lutheran Church north of Humboldt,NE. by Rev. Dahlke.

After marriage, Frieda and Lawrence farmed on the home place of Lawrence which they purchased in 1945. After 32 years they sold the farm and moved to Beatrice, Ne. and in the fall of 1966 they purchased a home in Johnson, NE. where Frieda worked in the kithen for the Johnson Brock Public Schools until her retirement. Her husband Lawrence passed away May 11, 1992.

Frieda was a member of St. James Lutheran Church (Long Branch). She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhlmann were very close to nieces and nephews, and they were their pride and joy.

As her health began to fail, she was admitted to Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, NE. on June 16, 1992. It was there that she passed away having reached the age of 88 years, nine months and one day. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband; two brothers and two sisters.

Those left to mourn her passing are two sister, Mrs. Herbert(Verna) Tuxhorn of elk Creek, Ne. and Mrs. Arnold (Mildred) Burrow of Table Rock, Ne. a sister-in-law, Annett Hitzemann of Elk Creek. Ne. nieces and nephews; other relaties and friends.

Services held at St. James Luthern church Humboldt, Ne. Nov. 16, 1998.
