Biography
Jane Kitchen was born on 24 February 1796 in Greenwich Twp, Sussex, New Jersey, United States, daughter of Samuel Kitchen and Elizabeth Hixson.
Jane resided on a tract comprising 152.472 acres situated alongside Little Fishingcreek in Northampton County (later Greenwood Township, Columbia County) which would become nicknamed within the family as "Fertility". Following her father's death in 1824 and her mother's death between 1824–1830, she inherited a portion which she and her husband sold to William Girton and his wife Catharine Bodine on April 11, 1831.[1]
