Ethal Palmer Kinne was born on July 9, 1799 in Manlius, Onondaga, New York, United States, son of Ethel Kinne (1775–1857) and Betsey Eaton

Ethal (25) married Lavinia Porter (21) (born on December 24, 1802 in DeRuyter, Madison County, New York) on September 3, 1824 in Cicero, Onondaga County, New York. Their daughter was Sophronia C. Kinne (1825–1912).

Ethal died on May 15, 1874 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States, aged 74. He was buried in Rosehill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.^[1]
