John married married Miriam Isbell, of Lenox at Lenox, Mass., 12 Feb., 1795, where she was born 9 Aug., 1772, daughter of Oliver and Sarah (Wilson) Isbell.[1]
They lived in Lenox until 1798, then moved to Cincinnatus, N. Y., where he built the first store and schoolhouse, and kept the first inn. He became a Colonel of militia; was Supervisor of the town for eleven years in succession, and held other town offices.[1]

JOHN KINGMAN, b. at Lenox, Mass., 13 Oct., 1797; married 27 Oct., 1823, Louisa Rockwell, daughter of Ezra Rockwell, of Cincinnatus, N. Y., where she was born, 16 Oct., 1803. They settled at Cincinnatus, and died there ; she, 2 Ap., 1873 ; he, 26 Oct., 1884.
CHARLES KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 6 March, 1800; married Nancy Root, daughter of Col. Daniel Root, of Pitcher, and died at Mattoon, Ill., in 1864.
LYMAN KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 4 May, 1802; married 28 June, 1827, Deborah Rawson Keith, daughter of Luther and Mary (Hooker) Keith, of Caroline, N. Y., where she was born, 10 Oct., 1806
GEORGE ISBELL KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 5 Sept., 1804; married 19 March, 1832, Mary S. Osgood, daughter of John Osgood.
LEROY WILSON KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 9 Aug., 1808; a merchant; married 8 May, 1837, Maria Livermore, daughter of Col. William and Sally (Loring) Livermore, of Spencer, Mass., where she was born, 14 June, 1813.
HARRIET KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 24 June, 1810; died 8 April, 1841, unmarried.
ALONZO KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 27 April, 1812; and died there, 2 Dec, 1832.
BETSEY KINGMAN, b. at Cincinnatus, N. Y., 12 Dec, 1815; married 27 Oct., 1842, Dr. Franklin Thompson Maybury, of Solon, Cortland Co., N. Y. They died at Binghamton, N. Y.; he, 18 April, 1880; she, 6 March, 1887.
John died in Cincinnatus, N. Y., 30 Jan., 1859.[1]
