Mehitable King was born on October 15, 1705 in Salem, Massachusetts, a daughter of Captain William King and Hannah Cook. [1]
On January 3, 1728/29, in Oxford, Massachusetts, Mehitable married Benjamin Marsh, [2] born October 10, 1704 in Salem, a son of Ebenezer Marsh (28 May 1674-19 Jul 1722) and Alice Booth (6 Jul 1678-), [3][4]
Benjamin was consistently referred to in the Sutton vital records as Benjamin Jr. Mehitable died in Sutton, MA ca 1731/1735. After her death, Benjamin married second Ruth Waters, and third his first cousin Abigail (Marsh) (Gould) Harback, widow of Jonathan Gould and Thomas Harback. [5]

Using Jr. in the records at this time, distinguished between two people with the same name, so an older Benjamin was also living in Sutton at the same time. Jr. didn't necessarily mean that his father's name was Benjamin.
Benjamin’s uncle Benjamin Marsh had married Mehitable’s aunt Hannah King in 1710.
