Biography

Hannah King was born in Derbyshire, England.

Hannah was born in 1843. She was the daughter of James King and Sarah Dimock, and her birth was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1843 in the The Derby Union district.^[1] Hannah was baptised on 9 August 1843 at St Michael's Church, Derby, Derbyshire. The family were living in Queen Street (Bull's Head ^[2]) at this time and her father was a Licensed Victualler. ^[3]

1851 Census: 7, Queen Street, Derby, Derbyshire. Hannah is 7 years old and living with her family. Her grandmother Hannah King 72, Inkeeper of the 'Bulls Head' was head of the household. Father James was 30 and mother Sarah was 33. She had two younger sisters Mary 5 and Sarah 2. There are also two House Servants, Elizabeth Hicklay 24 and Mary Hall 30 and a Porter Samuel Worrell 18. ^[4]

1861 census: Bulls Head, 7 Queen Street, Derby, Derbyshire. Hannah was 18. Father James 40, Maltster and Innkeeper and mother Sarah 46. Siblings, Mary 16, Elizabeth 9, and James William 6. Also a General Servant Judith ? 38, and a House Servant Henry Piggots 15. ^[5]

She passed away before 1893.

Research Notes From all accounts when her father James died in 1893, he had eight children and all died before he did. I have not yet found a death or a marriage for Hannah. ^[6]Wright-34853 08:21, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
