Almira King was born in 1827 in Yorkshire, Cattaraugus, New York. She was the daughter of Samuel King and Sabra Winslow. [1]
Almira married Ebenezer Hooper in about 1842. In 1850, they lived in Farmersville, Cattaraugus, New York with their three children, Lyman, Solomon and Cornelia, and Ebenezer's son from his first marriage to Caroline Thrasher, William Hooper. Her father-in-law, also named Ebenezer Hooper, lived in the household. [2] By 1844, they had a daughter named Mary. [3][4][5][6]
After Ebenezer died in 1869, Almira married Lucius Rogers. In 1875-1880, they lived in Freedom, Cattaraugus, New York. [7][8] Lucius does not appear in the 1892 census with Almira and is believed to have died. [9]
Almira lived with her daughter and son-in-law (and nephew), Cornelia and Milo King, in 1900-1905. [10][11]
Almira died on September 24, 1906 in Farmersville, Cattaraugus, New York.[12] She was buried in Farmersville Center Cemetery, Farmersville, Cattaraugus, New York. [13]
