William was born about 1870 in Victoria Australia. He was the son of Thomas King and Mary Baker.
In March 1870 William and his family relocated to Stirling Castle in Scotland where his father's battalion was to be garrisoned.
In 1875 he traveled to New Zealand on board the Alumbagh. His father died on the ship. His mother remarried.
He married Kate Jackson in 1898. She was the daughter of Mr Fredrick Jackson and Mrs Eliza Jackson (born Harper) Kate was born 1873 and died in 1959.
They had at least six children:
William died in 30 Aug 1919 at the age of 49.

William Thomas King (1870-1919) and Val Goss [Profile Manager] are both descendants of Noa (Unknown) Baker (abt.1808-1873).
