Obituary

Death of Mrs. R.P. Hunt

Mrs. R.P. Hunt, who has been critically ill for some time, died at her home north of Arkansas City, in Beaver township, at 10:30 yesterday morning. For some time the deceased had been critically ill and no hopes were entertained for her recovery, but a few days ago she seemed to rally and some hopes were entertained. However, in the morning her condition grew much worse, and death claimed her.

Mrs. Hunt was fifty-three years of age and is survived by her husband and three sons, Walter, Leslie and Edgar, and one daughter, Mrs. Etta Walth, all of Arkansas City; two brothers, John King, who resides north of Arkansas City, and L.P. King of this city, president of the Progressive State Bank; and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Winton, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. A. Leeper, of Colorado.

The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence in charge of the Rev. R.W. Gentry, pastor of the First Christian church.

Mrs. Hunt has been a resident of Arkansas city for about thirty-five years.[2]

Notes

The land which became Wyoming Territory, and then Wyoming, has a complicated history of territorial relationships. Portions of the territory, which eventually fell under Wyoming's jurisdiction, were at various points associated with the territories of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Dakota, Nebraska, and Utah, and had previously belonged to the independent states of Great Britain, France, Spain, Mexico, and Texas.[3]
