Biography

Edwin was born 12 Jan 1833 in Ithaca, Tompkins, New York, United States. He was one of two (2) children born to John Kimple and Annie McKinney (Goodwin) Kimple.

Edwin was born in New York in 1833, but by the time he was 14 his parents, John and Annie, had moved to Hayfield Township, Crawford County in Pennsylvania where they had taken up farming. (Between 1847-1853, the Kimple's had acquired and were working some 140 acres of fertile farmland in both Hayfield and Richmond Townships.)

In June of 1860, Edwin married Mary Marie Norris. She was from the line of Norrises who founded the town of Norrisville.

They gave birth to six (6) children between 1861 and 1874.
