Jesse Kimball served three months in the Revolutionary War as a substitute for his brother, Samuel, who had the measles and couldn't go to war. Jesse was discharged at New London by Captain Shapley in 1781. He also served three years in the Indian War. He was discharged in Cincinnati, Ohio, by Captain John H. Buell in 1792. He married Elizabeth Rowleson and they left New England and went to Henderson, Kentucky. He made whiskey but since he could not sell it to the Indians, the family was driven from their home and settled near Cynthiana, IN.
Jesse passed away on 18 Nov 1857 in Montgomery, Gibson County, Indiana, United States and was interred at Knowles Cemetery, Montgomery Township, Gibson County, Indiana, United States. [1]
