Biography

William was born on the 2nd June 1863 in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England ^[1]. He is the son of Owen Jose and Mary Blight. He grew up with his parents and siblings in Kenwyn ^[2]. But when he was a young teenager the entire family moved a long way north to Tudhoe, County Durham, England to work in the coal mines ^[3]. The family then moved again to Lanchester, County Durham.

William married Elizabeth Durham in about May 1886 in Lanchester, Co. Durham. He was aged about 23 years. ^[4]. William and Elizabeth settled in Lanchester and there raised a family ^[5][6][7][8].

Elizabeth died in 1938 leaving William as a widower ^[9]. He lasted until about May 1941. He died in Lanchester, Durham, aged 78 years. ^[10].
