As the England Project Leaders, we are completing our six monthly check-in with all project members.

Hi Ian

Thanks for your email. Yes I am happy to continues as I am. I occasionally do some of the challenges that pique my interest, but until I get most of my database onto WikiTree it will be only occasionally. I am starting to go further back in time so I will probably start screaming for advice once I get well into the 18th century. I do get a bit confused (swamped?) with the plethora of modes we communicate by. Discord is the best, as it very easy to track conversations in different categories. I don't use Google groups very much, so was a bit dismayed to see that some discussions have been moved from Discord to Google. G2G is not the greatest. There are so many discussions there, it is hard to trace any conversation if you leave it for more than a few days (it gets swamped by new discussions). Martin

Thank you Martin! Thank you for the feedback on Discord vs Google Group vs G2G. Thank you for being part of the England Project!

Hi Martin,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have not heard back from you. I hope you are well.

One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.

I have assumed that you are no longer participating in the England Project and removed you from our list of members. You are, of course, most welcome to re-apply to join the project at any time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.

Thank you for all your work on the England Project!

Best wishes, Amy

Hi Martin,

We've not yet received a reply from you regarding the message we recently sent about the England Project. We hope you're okay! We realise that your interests may have moved on, however, and so of we don't hear from you by the end of December we'll presume that you wish to be removed from the Project. Of course, you'll be welcome to rejoin us at a later time if you wish :)

Regards, Amy, Lizzie & Joan.

Hi Martin,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Amy, Joan & Lizzie.

Hello Martin

Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. Thank you for your work on English Profiles and your work in the Devon and Cornwall teams.

These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice, or if you wish to do something additional or different. Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do.

Hi there Martin,

Great to see the work you're doing on George Watson. His second wife, known as Polly, was the aunt of my grandmother, and I met her a few times when I was young. I have a vague memory (false?) of meeting Uncle George, too. Will you be adding his first wife and family? I was interested to see that our Wikitree paths may have crossed before. I did all the CIBs for Devon last year and you are/were a Devon Team Member. Best wishes, Steve Bartlett

Hi Martin,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have yet to heard back from you. I hope you are well.

One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.

If I don’t hear from you in the next week or so I’ll assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Thank you for your message to Roger.

I would like to point out that there are ways to add to Pre-1500 profiles and that The Pre-1500 rules, are there for good reasons.

Why don't you take up the challenge and work to achieve the level of being able to work on Pre-1500. You are Pre 1700 and it these profiles you submit to become Pre-1500. Take a look here

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1500_Profiles#Adding_Information_without_Certification

Martin

Thanks for your support I think the problem was a few dodgy gedcoms were entered on Wikitree without being checked. Also its very difficult to be accurate with birth dates so there must be an element of guess work. We are all a bit guilty inputting this info,at least its on record and gives people an opportunity to improve and add to it.
