Biography

Ellen (Jackson) Banks is a part of US Black heritage.

Ellen Jackson was born in March 1848 in Alabama, the daughter of parents from South Carolina.

Ellen married William Banks and had three children: Gilliard, Mary, and William.

In the 1880 US Census, she was listed as married and head of household. Her occupation was a farmer.

Ellen was listed as widowed in the 1900 US Census, living in Darbys, Pike, Alabama, with her son Gilliard's family, including her daughter Mary.
