Mary Ann was born in 1840 and baptised on 2 September 1842 in Germoe, Cornwall, the daughter of James Jacka (miner) and Mary Ann residing in Breage.^{[1] [2]}

She was married for 26 years, and has had 5 children, 3 of whom are living; she has been in the USA for 15 years.

Mary Ann died on 24 November 1905 and is buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana, USA.^[12] Mary was mentioned in the The Anaconda Standard on 27 November 1905 in Anaconda, Montana.^[13]

DEATH OF MRS. MARY A. DOBB Mother of the janitor of the I. O. G. T. hall passed away at the family home yesterday. Mrs. Mary A. Dobb, mother of James Dobb, janitor of the I. O. O. T. hall, passed away yesterday morning at the family home. 1,034 Utah street, at the age of 65 years, her death being caused by general debility. Mrs. Dobb had been a resident of Butte for the past six years, and was a native of Canada. The funeral will take place at 2 o’clock to-morrow afternoon, and the services will be held In Grace M. E. church. Rev. J. W. Tait, assisted by Rev. H. A. James of Walkervllle. will conduct the services. The interment will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
