Biography

Seth Hulett was born on 10 Jul 1888^[1] OR on 10 Jul 1889 in Cooperstown Township, Brown, Illinois^[2] as the first born son of Perry Hulett (1860-1940) and Dora (McCombs) Hulett (abt.1866-abt.1924).^[3][4]

Siblings linked at his FindaGrave Memorial include: Seth, Joseph, Agnes, Taylor, Edmonn,Lydia, Verne, Martin, and Frank Hulett.^[4] Note that one sibling, Martin Hulett (possibly b 1 Feb 1905 in McDonough County, IL - d 20 Mar 1950 in Bushnell, McDonough, IL) is not linked at FindaGrave. In 1900, Seth (11), parents Perry (40) and Dora (32), and five younger siblings - Joseph, Agnes, Taylor, Edmond and Lydia were living in Browning, Schuyler, Illinois^[5]

At some point (most likely prior to 1913), Seth married Mona Sparks. One daughter born to this union was [[Bessie Elenor Hulett (1913-1927)^[4].

In 1910, Seth (22) and his wife, Mona B (maiden name not yet known) (21) were newly wed and living in the home of his parents, Perry (50) and Dora (42), in Walnut Grove, McDonough, Illinois, where he and his father both worked as farmers. Other household members included his 8 siblings - Joseph (20), Agnes (Hulett) Carey (abt.1893-1957) (17), Taylor (15), Edmon (13), Lydia (10), Verne (8), Martin (5), and Frank (2)^[3]. Seven of his eight siblings are linked to his memorial at FindaGrave. (Martin has yet to be linked.)^[4]

On 5 Jun 1917, Seth (28) registered for the WW I Draft while living in and working as a farmer in Bushnell, McDonough County, Illinois. At this time, he was married with two children and described as being tall and slender, with blue eyes and dark brown hair. Also noted was that he claimed "rupture" as reason for exemption from draft.^[2].

In 1940 Seth (50), who had only a 3rd grade education, was working as a farm operator. His wife, Jennie (52), had a 4th year high school education. They were now living in Mound, McDonough, Illinois where they had also been living in 1935.^[6].

Seth died at the age of 89, in May 1978.^[1][4] Exact date, location, other specifics is not yet found or substantiated.
