Biography

Jane (Hopewell) Brooks, second child and daughter of John C. Hopewell and Hilda Hutchinson was born in Boston General Hospital on 2 Dec 1932.

Jane and three siblings lived in Weston, Vt. with their mother following the parents divorce. When the mother remarried, Jane became part of the Ernest Wood family in 1943. The family then moved to Westminster, VT, where Jane completed high school an from where she joined the US Air Force.

While stationed in Washington D.C., Jane meet, dated and married Walker D. Brooks. Upon discharging form the US Air Force, Jane and Walter moved to Lexington, KY, where Walter was then employed by IBM Corp. As they raised their children they built a county home followed by buying a small horse farm for boarding horses. Windmill Farms, in Versailles, Woodland Co., became a well known and well respected horse boarding facility. Jane was certainly a horse lover and a good business woman till her death at 81.
