John was a minister in the Amish-Mennonite Church. He and Catherine settled first in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, but moved about 1791 to Mifflin County. [1] They had 11 children born between 1761 and 1791 :

  1. Magdalena m. Christian Yoder [1]
  2. Catherine m. Isaac Garver [1]
  3. John m. Sarah Garver [1]
  4. Christian m. Elizabeth Mast [1]
  5. Barbara m. Jacob Yoder [1]

  7. Peter m. Esther (Mast) Zook (2nd husband) [1]
  8. Elizabeth m. (1) John Lantz, (2) Solomon King [1]
  9. Mary m. John Kenagy [1]
  10. Fanny m. Joseph Kenagy [1]
  11. David m. Catherine King [1]

John died on 5 Oct 1805, aged 64, and Catherine died on 21 Jan 1812. Both are buried in the Hooley Cemetery, on the farm which they owned, about 2 miles west of Reedsville. [1]
