John Hooley was born c.1741, probably in Switzerland, the son of Andreas Hooley by his first wife (whose name is unknown). He married Catherine Blank, daughter of Dr. Johannes Blank and his wife Magdalena.[1]
John was a minister in the Amish-Mennonite Church. He and Catherine settled first in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, but moved about 1791 to Mifflin County. [1] They had 11 children born between 1761 and 1791 :
John died on 5 Oct 1805, aged 64, and Catherine died on 21 Jan 1812. Both are buried in the Hooley Cemetery, on the farm which they owned, about 2 miles west of Reedsville. [1]
Merged profile included Troyer as a middle name, without providing evidence that this was ever used by John.
