Charles Justin Holohan was born in Ireland.
Charles Justin Holohan was born at his parents home in Belleview House on the Grand Canal in Palmerston, Dublin, in 1878. His mother's name was given as Elizabeth on the birth record but this is almost certainly a transcription error as her name (or at least her nickname) was Ann.
In March 1901 Charles was living with his maternal aunt, Kate Nally, and her family in Kilmainham, St Jude's civil parish. Charles's elder brother George was also living with them. Charles's trade at this time was "clerk".
