Biography

Frances Harriet Holmes (married name Aumuller) was born in 1847 in Bedminster, Somerset, England[1], the eldest daughter of Sarah Holmes and Edward Carter Holmes.[2]

She was christened on 21 September 1848 at St Marys, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.[3]

She married Karl Aumuller on 20 July 1876 at Echo Hills, Queensland, Australia.[4] Their children were:[5]

Karl died in Queensland in November 1900.[5][6]

Frances stayed in Cairns after Karl's death for many years, before leaving to reside in Sydney, New South Wales with one of her daughters around 1913.[7]

Frances died whilst holidaying at Essendon, Victoria on 29 May 1923, aged 74.[2][7][8]
