Biography

Ludwig Hollinger was born in Woolwich Township in 1855. He was the son of Jacob Hollinger and Eva Niergarth. He anglicized his name to Louis. He married Lydia Lein in Elmira in 1882.

He was a hotel keeper in St. Jacobs.

It is with deep regret that we have to report the death of one of our fellow citizens, Mr. Louis Hollinger. He had a very severe attack of pneumonia and was ill for only five or six days. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon. We extend our heart felt sympathy to the family in their bereavement.^[1]
