“We need to haunt the house of history and listen anew to the ancestors’ wisdom.” – Maya Angelou

I am the child of Ronald Giroir and Diana Holland. I was born and raised in Morgan City, La. In 2005 I married Joel Robinson[1]and began my journey in life and left my hometown for good. Since then I have lived in multiple countries AND states and have had some pretty amazing experiences. Along the way I have been extremely blessed to have met some of the most fascinating and interesting people from all walks of life.

This has by far become my most indulged hobby, once you start it’s so hard to walk away! I have learned so many things about the people that I come from and it has been such a pleasure to see the paths they have traveled, learned of their hardships and accomplishments. I am here to see, hear and read it all. I want to uncover the ugly as well as the beautiful, but more importantly I am on the hunt for the FACTS! It has been a very humbling journey with so much more to uncover and I look forward to every milestone accomplished on my journey.

Hi!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Kaylee,

We're sad to inform you that the Black Sheep Project is being dissolved. All BSP's subprojects will be moved in pieces under the Notables Project as categories and perhaps as Teams, depending on interest. Witch Trials will become a subproject of Notables.

Your BSP project member badge will soon be removed. If you'd like to join the Notables project, please let one of us know and we'll get you a Notables badge.

Please email either of us if you have any questions and if you'd like to join the Notables project.

Thanks, Susan McNamee & Traci Thiessen ~co-leaders, Black Sheep Project

Ciao! I created a thread for the Italy project teams here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1091444/italy-project-teams-assemble

I hope you check it out. If I have you down for a team, let me know. If you still haven't decided, feel free to comment. Thanks!

Ciao! This is just a general check-in for members of the Italy project. I am checking to see who is still interested in being a member of the project as we go through some much needed restructuring. I was also wondering what teams you would like to be on. We’ve created teams for each part of Italy. North, South, Islands etc. They will be explained further in an upcoming g2g post. Stay tuned. For now, please let me know if you are still interested in the project and if you’d like to be a member of a team.

I am not even really sure how I had ended up on those profiles but I have some similar surnames in my tree. I am so very happy to help with what I can and who knows, maybe we have a connection somewhere up or down the line! Haha!
Hi, Kaylee!

I know you were working on some research on Susan Brassfield and Solomon Fulk over the summer. I just picked up on them again this evening to see if I could track down some more information. I've added a research note to each of their profiles for some info I found in a Brasfield-Brassfield genealogy. I thought you might like to take a look. :-)

Off to see what more I can find w/ the new information.

Julie

Yes. I have been working off and on with them. I did find a book in my local library on the family. I thought I had loaded them to the proper pages, maybe not. I will try to get them loaded ASAP!
Hi, I currently live in Covington, but I actually born in the Houma and grew up in Bourg. I’m related to the Rhodes family from the Houma area and my grandfather‘s father was Druby Rhodes. My father-in-law actually did that entire Rhodes Family Ancestry going all the way back to the 700s and they came mainly from England and France. I was finally able to upload my ancestry.com GedCOM file so I could compare it to my WikiTree and I can’t wait and I hope that I will be able to insert all of those Rhodes ancestors all the way back to the beginning.

Thank you!

Hi Kaylee

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Louisiana Families Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

Hi, Kaylee! Thanks for the note on Solomon Fulk's profile.

It looks like the one you linked to is the son of John Volck, and I hadn't gotten him added in yet.

Thanks for the heads up! :-)

Julie

Hi Kaylee,

Thank you for responding, I have noted you wish to stay part of the project.

I am not part of the Acadia Project, so you would be better asking Jackie or Cindy

Take care Karen
