Biography

The son of John Milton Hill (1838-1929) and Mary Elizabeth Woodard (1840-1924), George Hill was born in Bloomfield Township, Indiana in 1871.^[1] In 1880, his family lived in Reserve Township, Indiana, farming.^[2] His siblings included:

3. Lydia Frances Hill (1868-1949)
4. Warner Franklin Hill (1873-1963)
5. Robert Barclay Hill (1876-1877)

George Hill married Evalina (Osgood) Gregory, marrying in Ridgeway, Michigan on March 5, 1895^[3] and having six children together, including two who are believed to have died in infancy. George and his family made their home for a time in Cadillac, Michigan before heading west to California, where George took work as a brakeman for the railroad.^[4] George later took a job with the street railway in Pasadena.^[5] By 1920, George and his family lived in Antelope, California.^[6][7][8]

George Hill passed away at 913 Cedar Avenue in Lancaster, California^[9][10] at the age of 72.
