Here are some community superlatives.

Members participate on WikiTree to grow a single family tree, not to compete for points, and no metric can measure the value of family history. Still, it can be fun to see who's most active in our community and recognize those who make an outstanding number of contributions.

Do you have any "Tree Tops" to share? Post in G2G using the tag tree_tops.

Top Connection Counts ("Most Connected")

We record and report your connection count within seven degrees, or "CC7" for short. We also calculate CC7s for notables, such as historical figures.

See:

  1. Your connection count history, going back to June 2022.
  2. Members with the highest CC7s.
  3. Notables with the highest CC7s.

These counts are updated periodically. See Help:Connection Counts for more explanation.

Top G2G Scores ("Most Communicative")

Our G2G forum awards points for participation, especially for answering other member's questions. Click here to see which activities are counted.

Top Thank-You Counts ("Most Appreciated")

We started our unique thank-you system way back in 2011, so we have counted a lot of thank-yous! See who has collected the most.

These counts are updated once a day.

Top Contributors by Surname ("Most Prolific")

You can see the total number of contributions by a member on their profile. We don't rank members by contribution counts, but since 2010 we have awarded Club 100 and Club 1,000 badges for surpassing 100 or 1,000 contributions in a calendar month. Some members have collected over 100 club badges.

In 2020 we created an improved system for counting contributions, Surname Contributions, where multiple edits to the same profile are only counted once and certain tracked changes, such as comments, profile manager changes, and rejecting merge proposals, are not counted. These counts are then ranked and sorted by surname, month, and year.

These counts are updated at the end of every month. See Help:Surname Contributions for more explanation.

WikiTree Tops

Since 2016, Peter Roberts has been maintaining a page with top facts such as the person with the most identified ancestors, the earliest photograph on a profile, the longest Y-chromosome line, etc.

Peter's counts are updated by hand. You can help him identify superlative members and achievements.
