Secunderabad, 28th July 1835. "Richard, son of Alexander Helt Drum Major 39th M.N.I. and Sarah his late wife born 11th day of April last was baptised..."[1]
Death
Secunderabad, 30th July 1835. "Richard, son of J Helt Drum Major 39th Regiment N.I. died this day aged 3 months and was buried..."[2]
Research Notes
The family's surname is spelt variously Held, Helt, Helth, Heldt across different documents; Heldt seems to have been the settled choice for descendants.
The mistaken initial J was given for his father on his burial record, and that of his mother, Sarah.
