Biography

Rose Heilman Heisler Sattler was born July 9, 1912 near Balta, the daughter of John & Elizabeth Heilman. She grew up near Balta & attended school there. She married Nick Heisler Nov. 11, 1929 in Balta. They farmed near Esmond for 25 years. They moved to Esmond in 1953 where she managed the local hotel & owned & operated Rose's Cafe. He died in 1957 & she later purchased a drug & variety store in Esmond. She moved in 1969 to Rugby, where she worked as a waitress. She Married Tony Sattler Sept. 23, 1974 in Rugby. They moved to Devils Lake in 1986. He died in 1991.
