Research note

The source above is an index and does not show the actual page. It gives the impression that Thomas Stackhouse and Grace were married prior to arrival in 1682. The marriage shows the date of 1688 in Bucks County, PA. Without seeing the actual immigration record, I cannot tell if this is true or if they were simply on the same ship. I believe the 1688 marriage is correct.

Union Cemetery,Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania[12]

Grace Heaton was the first wife of Thomas Stackhouse 1660-1774. His second wife was Ann Mayos. His third wife was Dorothy Heston.

Gracea filia Roberti Heaton Jun de Wharffe Ie Grace daughter of Robert Heaton junior of Wharfe.

The above is from The Giggleswick (near Settle) register on Ancestry. If Robert’s patents are Richard and Hester Pearson why would he be referred to as Robert Heaton Jnr of Wharfe? To me this implies his father was also Robert.

Here's a Quaker death source:

Middletown MM: Bucks, PA.,: Deaths ledger: "Grace Stackhouse was buried 8th mo. 8th 1708."

Heaton-138 and Heaton-1224 appear to represent the same person because: Heaton-1224 should be merged into Heaton-138. Same spouses. Heaton-1224 does not have parents, children or DOB, DOD.

The change from the Julian to the Gregorian

calendar occurred in 1752/53. Because of the Quaker custom of not using standard names for months there is some modern confusion when refering to pre-1752 Quaker records. 7 . 27. 1688 would be the 7th month or September.

Changed marriage month from September to July. Attached marriage record clearly shows July.

Heaton-630 and Heaton-138 appear to represent the same person because: both d/o Robert & Alice (Rycroft); w/o Thomas Stackhouse

Possibly a duplicate with Heaton-484; marriage information matches, but birth/death do not.
