Born on November 18, 1965 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Danny Hazlett and Mary Thomas. Joanne enjoyed reading, gardening and time spent with family. She loved her German Shepherd dogs.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kayla at home; her brother, Ronnie Hazlett of Fort McMurray, AB and her nephew, Skyler.
