Thank you for joining the Mighty Oaks for the Connect-a-Thon. The 65 members who joined our teams were awesome. Our two teams added 12,905 profiles over the weekend. The Branches Team came second and the Roots Team came forth in the overall scores. Both teams were also in the top ten in the normalised scores. I hope you enjoyed it and will be joining us in April when we do it all over again.

I sent you a private message on October 28, 2021 to join the US Black Heritage Project. It would have been in an email from WikiTree with the subject heading "Your WikiTree Page" I am following up as I haven't heard from you. Did you receive my message? Denise Jarrett

I'm a direct descendant of Cook-35549 (Andrew Cook), who has been my brick wall for quite awhile. I wanted to thank you for your contribution and I was hoping you could suggest or direct me to possibly more info about him. The only sources I could ever find were his marriage record to Grace Head and being listed as father to James (birth record), and possibly Hanah (Cuook). Thank you for considering, Jason Cook
Andrew Cook is a direct ancestor of, ironically, my uncle Jason. I did the genealogy as part of a gift to his parents, but I really did the minimum research here because Colonial America is not one of my areas of comfort or experience. Perhaps talk to someone from the United States Project? They may have someone who is good with the time period and location. You can also look through the collection I took my source from to see what else is in that person's collections. If you are located in New England, American Ancestors has a good selection and you can schedule to meet a genealogist there.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

How is it going so far, were the How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?
Clicking your green tags will show other members who follow that tag. Add tags for family surnames locations, Country, County or topic of interest. The more tags you add the more links to community & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.
We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful. I have page one bookmarked for reference page
