Hannah Harlan, daughter of George & Elizabeth Harlan and was born Feb 4, 1681. She emigrated with her family to america in 1687. She married Samuel Hollingsworth in 1701 .[1]
Samuel Hollingsworth, son of Valentine and Anne (Calvert) Hollingsworth, was born on 27 Mar. 1673, and came to Delaware with his parents in 1682, living in New Castle County from then until his marriage. In 1701 he married Hannah Harland (Harlan) in the Kennett Meeting. Her grandfather, Peter Harland, is also found on the Muster Rolls of County Armagh, in 1631. The new couple moved to Chester County, Pennsylvania, where they remained the balance of their lives.

Her father died before 21-4-1762 (based on record of marriage of "George Harlan, son of George, late of Kennett, Chester Co., dec'd., and Margery Baker of Christiana Hd., NCC [New Castle County]. 21-4-1762 at Center Meeting."[5]

He was b. in 1672 near the city of Belfast in North Ireland, and d. in Birmingham Twp, Chester Co., Pa., 9 Mo., 1748, and was bur. in the old b. g. at "Old" Kennett Meeting House; a son of Valentine Hollingsworth, native of Cheshire, England. Hannah d. in Birmingham at a date subsequent to that of her husband; she, too, was bur. at "Old" Kennett. At the time of her marriage Hannah was residing at the home of her father in Kennett Twp., and Samuel was living in New Castle Co. Each was a member with Friends at Newark Meeting. Issue:

Samuel Hollingsworth was one of the 11 commissioners appointed in 1728/9 to run the line between Chester Co. and the then newly erected County of Lancaster. In 1735 he owned land and lived near George Harlan, on the west side of Brandywine, some five or six miles up from Wilmington. At that time he was a Justice of the Peace. He is thought to have lived in Birmingham Twp. at the time of his death.
