In 1960 she was employed as a register nurse at Mercy Hospital (now Mercy Medical Center, Redding) in the recovery room. Peg later moved to the obstetrics ward then finish her 25-year career in the emergency room.

Haskell died on 12 August 1992 in Redding, California and was buried in Shasta, Shasta County, California, United States.^[7]

Peg passed away 8 Feb 2014 in El Dorado County, California. She is buried next to Hack in the Masonic Cemetery, Old Shasta, California^[8]
