Margaret (Halliday) Ashman was born in Kingston, Hampshire, England.

Margaret was born at Portsea, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom in 1849. She was the daughter of John Halliday and Maryanne Thomson.^[1]

At the time of the 1851 England and Wales Census, she was living at Saint Georges Hanover Square, Middlesex, England with her parents and siblings. ^[2]

She married Charles Rotherham at Newcastle on 26 August 1870. ^[3]

Charles passed away in 1870. ^[4]

She married James Ashman at Newcastle on 16 September 1871. ^[5]

They had 10 children.

She passed away at Adamstown in 1927. ^[6]
