Biography

Nathan Hallet, 1768/69 - 1851, was the son of Edward and Sarah Hallet. He was the firstborn of eight. Nathan married three times:

  1. In 1791 to Azubah White. They had at least six children, born between 1792 and 1803. Azubah was the daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Hallet. She died in 1805.
  2. In 1808, to Alice ‘Elsey’ Hallet. They had at least two or three children, including twins, Oliver and Alice, born 16 August 1810. Elsey died in 1811.
  3. In 1812, to Sophia Hallet (sister of Alice ‘Elsey’, daughters of Benjamin Hallet and Abigail Matthews. Sophia and Nathan had seven children, born between 1812 and 1826. Sophia died in 1829.

Nathan died, a widower, in Yarmouth, Massachusetts in 1851. [1] NOTE: this Family Tree contains many sourced records for some of Nathan’s children.

Nathan Hallet and Azubah White were married on 23 August 1791 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts. [2] [3]

Nathan Hallet and Elsey Hallet were married in 1808 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts. [4]

Nathan Hallet, a widowed farmer, aged (82), died on 4 March 1851 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. He died of old age. Nathan was born about (1769) in Yarmouth, the son of Edward and Sally Halley. Nathan was buried in Yarmouth. [5] NOTE: this record has some transcription errors.

Nathan was born in 1768. He married three times: to Azubah White in 1781; to Alice “Elsey” Hallet in 1808; and to Sophia Hallet in 1812. His last two wives were sisters, daughters of Benjamin Hallet and Abigail Matthews. Nathan had at least fourteen children. Nathan died on 4 March 1851 in Yarmouth Port, Barnstable, Massachusetts, and is buried with his three wives and other family at Ancient Cemetery, Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. [6] Nathan and Azubah (White) Hallet are mentioned as the parents of Lucy (Hallett) Thacher in Lucy’s death record. [7]
