"Laura Haden was one of Boone County's outstanding teachers. A reunion of former pupils was held in her honor at Deer Park School in Boone Co., Mo. She was presented with a cameo pin as a token of appreciation for loyalty and faithfulness to duty. She died April 28th, 1944 at the home of her sister Susan Haden Beaven on her father's old home place where she was born, in a house built by him which was still standing at the time. She is buried in the Columbia Cemetery on the Wright lot beside her sister Rebecca Haden Wright."
