Biography

Louis Guimond was born and baptized on 9 March 1705 in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, son of Joseph Guimond and of Anne Paray.[1]

Louis Guimond married Marie Anne Racine, daughter of Jean Racine and of Anne Lessart, on 18 Nov 1727 in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré.[2]

2 known children from this marriage, who both died young.[3]

Marie Anne Racine died on 5 July 1730 and was buried on the 6th in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, the record giving her 24 years of age.[4]

Widowed, Louys Guimon remarried with Marie Madeleine Laissart (sic), daughter of Joseph Laissart of or Marguerite Racine, on 15 January 1731 in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré. There was notice of consanguinity for this marriage.[5]

11 known children from this marriage, 3 known to die young and 8 to marry.[3]

Louis Guimond died on 26 April 1762 and was buried on the 27th in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, the record giving him around 55 years of age. He was buried inside the church.[6]
