Biography

James Watson Guiher was born on April 19,1853 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania to Isaac Guiher and Elizabeth Watson. ^[1]

In 1870, James lived with his mother and stepfather, Robert Marshall, in Wheeling, Ward 7, Ohio, West Virginia. His stepfather worked in a brickyard. James, age 16, was employed as a huckster (door-to-door salesman). He is shown in the census with his stepfather's last name. ^[2]

James and his brother, William Guiher, both retirees, were lodgers in Frank B. McClendon's home in San Diego, California in 1930.^{[3] [4]}

James died in 1944 and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, San Diego, San Diego, California. William died in 1947 and they share a gravestone. ^[5]
