Salvatrice Grizzaffi is born 2 May 1849 and baptized the next day. She is the daughter of Giovanni Grizzaffi and Biagia Quaglino. Her godparents are Vincenzo Lanza and Rosaria Raja, a married couple.
Salvatrice marries Leoluca Crescimanno on 8 October 1865. Her parents are both living at this time.
Salvatrice and Leoluca have at least nine children together: two daughters named Giuseppa (1866 and 1873), Giocchino (1868), Giovanni (1871), Paolo (1873), Paolo Salvatore (1876), Biagia (1879), Rosa (1881), and Pietra (1886). All of her children are known from baptismal records.
According to Gina Spatafora, "Rosa's parents are Salvatrice Grizzaffi and Leoluca Crescimanni. Her [mother's] sisters are Angela and Giovanna Lucia. Giovanna Lucia Grizzaffi married Antonino La Barba (Petra Crescimanni's godparents)."
The first daughter named Giuseppa is born 13 September 1866 and baptized the next day as Josepham. This record gives her surname as Crescimanni. Her godparents are Bernardus di Miceli and Antonina Marino, a married couple. She is presumed to have died before the twins are born in 1873.
Giaocchino is born and baptized on 26 October 1868. His godparents are Antoninus di Carlo and Marianna Saporito, son and mother.
Giovanni, called Vanni, is born 3 March 1871 and baptized as Joannem the next day. His godparents are Francesco Notarbartolo and Vincenza Cordaro, a married couple.
Twins Giuseppa and Paolo are born and baptized on 28 August 1873 in Corleone. The naming of the girl, Giuseppa, indicates that the first daughter with this name has died. Her godmother is Bernarda Berlingeri, who is unmarried. Paolo's godfather is Biagio Berlingeri. Paolo dies on 25 February 1874.
Paolo Salvatore is born 26 July 1876 and baptized two days later as Paulum Salvatorem. His godfather is Paolo Streva, who is unmarried. Paolo Salvatore dies at age two on 8 January 1879.
Biagia is born 7 May 1879 and baptized Blasiam the next day. Her godparents are Salvatore Cascio and Anna Maria Grizzaffi, a married couple. She appears in the 1910 US Census; based on her age there, she is born around 1884. Biagia marries Giovanni Grizzaffi.
Rosa is born 8 September 1881 and baptized Rosam on 10 September. Her godparents are Francesco Dragna and Anna Gutera.
Pietra is born 29 June 1886 and baptized Conceptam Petram on 30 June. Her godparents are Antoninus La Barba and Joanna (called Lucia) Grizzaffi, Salvatrice's sister and her husband: the same godparents as John Cascio, son of Angela Grizzaffi.
Giuseppa marries Leoluca di Miceli
Leoluca and Salvatrice immigrate in US in 1896 with the whole family.
In 1898, Giuseppa and Leoluca di Miceli, and two of their children, join Giuseppa's brother, Giovanni, in New York. This is the first indication that Giovanni has immigrated. Giovanni travels again in 1906.
Salvatrice's widowed sister Angela joins her in New York in 1901, with three of her children. Two more of her children follow in 1903 with their brother, Leoluca.
Giocchino appears on two ship manifests, as the destination of the travelers: Angela's, above, and two more of Angela's children, with their uncle Leoluca Grizzaffi, and (likely Leoluca's daughter) Biagia in 1903.
Leoluca and Salvatrice appears in 1910 New York state census records as Louis and Tillie Chrescimanno, age 60 (b. 1850) in household of her son in law, Louis Demceleli (Leoluca Di Miceli), husband of her daughter Giuseppa ("Josie").
