John Gray was born on 29 July 1708 in Newichawanoc, York, Massachusetts Bay Colony, incorporated a few years later as Berwick. His parents were Alexander Gray and Elizabeth (Thompson) Gray.[1] John was baptized on 7 October 1711, in Berwick.[2]
John married Elizabeth Goodwin, daughter of Moses, about 1730, in Berwick, based on the baptisms of two children there in 1733.[3][2]
No death records have been found for John or Elizabeth. They likely died in Berwick, although some of their children moved to Pownalborough (now Wiscasset).
A James, son of John Grey, was baptized in 1717. This could not have been the John Gray of this profile, but it indicates that there was more than one person of the name in Berwick in the early 1700s.
A John Gray of Biddeford wrote his will in 1752, but mentions daughters Mary, Elizabeth, and Olive; so not this John Gray.
