WikiTree is a collaborative site for people of all experience levels. 1. Sourcing makes the difference between genealogy and mythology. 2. In order to build one collaborative tree, each person must have only ONE profile. Helpful search links Familysearch.org has a great deal of info already indexed. Also Help Index and dont forget the G2G Forum a great place for questions and answers. Helpful links in How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step refresher guide .
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you will run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Sandy ~ WikiTree Mentor
How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!
