Rena Marie (or Marie Reina) Goudreau was born and grew up in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, until about 1917, when the family moved back to the Campbellton New Brunswick area, settling in Cross Point (Pointe-à-la-Croix) on the Quebec side of the Restigouche River.
On 17 April 1928, in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Rena then age 22 married Raoul Edmond Dubé, also 22 (born 28 April 1907 in St-Quentin, New Brunswick son of Arsène Dubé and Marie-Thérèse St-Pierre; Raoul died about 10 March 1958 in Montreal, Quebec).
