Biography

Mary was born July 23, 1755, the daughter of Jabez Gorham and Mary Burbank of Plymouth, Massachusetts[1] [2]

(n 1775, she married William Dunlap[3], and had children, including:

  1. Martha Patty Dunlop, who was born in 1778, who married John Hammond on January 7, 1813
  2. Mary Dunlop 1784–1872[4]
  3. William Dunlop Jr. 1788–1873, who married Mary McLearn
  4. David James Dunlop 1798–1891, who married Abigail Freeman, sister of John and Nathan
  5. Elizabeth Dunlop, who married Joseph Brown, of Moose Hill
  6. Mercy Dunlop, who married Benjamin Hayden in Liverpool in 1803
  7. Mary Dunlop, who married Thomas Hayden brother of Benjamin 1803
  8. Lucy Dunlop, who married Mr. Hays, and then became the 4th wife of Simeon Freeman. She died in 1875
  9. Hannah Dunlop, who married Samuel Kenney, and died May 7, 1869[5]
  10. John, who was lost at sea unmarried
  11. James, who was lost at sea unmarried

William and Mary operated an Inn in Liverpool, Nova Scotia[6] on the Milton Road, near the intersection of Old Falls Road.[7] [8], although Perkins also mentions barrels (delivered late) and fishing nets set by William Dunlop. Robert Long indicates that the inn was located roughly where the exit for the 103 runs today.

She passed away about 1831.
