He passed away on July 7, 1999[2][4][12] and was buried at the Hills of Rest Cemetery, in Citrus County, Florida.[14]

GODDARD, WALTER EVERETT, 88, of Inverness, died Wednesday (July 7,1999) in the Mariner Health Care Center. Born in Mayfield, Ky., he came here 27 years ago from Amarillo Texas. He was a retired civil service employee for Air Force building maintenance and also served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Istachatta Church of Christ and Carpenters Local 665, Amarillo. Survivors include a nephew, Don Jones, Amarillo; and a niece, Kathleen Colville, El Paso, Texas, Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.[12]
