Gray-Hutchins [incorrectly cited as Thomas] was born in 1765 in Albemarle Parish, Sussex County, VA to Agnes Gilliam. No father is listed. Since Gray took his mother's maiden name it is assumed she was not married.
He married on 5 Feb 1795 Elizabeth Stewart daughter of John Stewart and Lucretia Pennington.
