John Patterson Gillham's calculated birth date is in the second half of the year 1807 using age/dates from the 1850 & 1860 US Census. He was born in St. Clair county, Illinois to Jacob Clemonds Gillham (abt.1786-abt.1846) & Priscilla (Patterson) Gillham (abt.1782-abt.1820).

John P. Gilham & Jane F Holmes were married in Jefferson County, Missouri on October 18th 1831. ^[1]

Jane F (Holmes) Gillham (1810-1860), John Patterson's first wife was not in this census with enumeration date June 5th 1860 as she died the month prior of bilious fever (see Jane's profile for source citation). ^[3]

Research Notes

There are geneaology websites that state John P. died in the Civil War at Battle of Helena, Philips County, Arkansas on July 4th 1863 however I am unsure where this information comes from as I have yet to find a matching war record nor burial or cemetery record to back this information. ^[6] Henbest-31 17:41, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
