Biography

Betty Joyce Gilchrist was born on 20 April 1930 in Pennsylvania, United States. She was the daughter of Grady Greely Gilchrist (1898–1983) and Margaret Hilda Clarke (1905–1965).^[1]

In 1940, Betty Joyce Gillchrist was 10 years old. She was recorded on the United States Census living in in household of her father, Grady Gillchrist, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.^[2]

Betty Joyce Gilchrist married William Roy Hargenrader in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on 13 December 1947. Betty Joyce misrepresented her age on her application to marriage, saying she was 21 years old rather than 17.^[1] They were the parents of at least 2 children who are deceased and 1 child who may still be living.

Betty Joyce (Gilchrist) Hargenrader died on 13 October 2008 at the age of 78. Place of death not revealed in sources examined. Find a Grave has Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona which corresponded to her last place of residence per Social Security records.^[3] She was buried in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.^[4]
