Colonel Jacob Gerrish served with 25th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Jacob Gerrish was Captain of a company which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775. His name appears to have briefly been assigned to Col. Samuel Gerrish's 25th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment in May of 1775 before being reassigned to Col. Moses Little's 24th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment. Later in the war he became a Colonel in the Essex County, Massachusetts Militia. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Jacob Gerrish was born on February 09, 1738 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. His parents were Joseph Gerrish and Katherine Brown. [6]

He died on February 18, 1817 in Newbury. [6]
