Biography

Remember Garlick, daughter of Joshua and Goody Garlick, was born about 1640^[1] in East Hampton, NY.^[2]

"The girl with the lovely Puritan name, Remember, was about 18 when her mother, Elizabeth Garlick, was tried for witchcraft in the death of Elizabeth (Gardiner) Howell in February 1657/8."^[3]

"She married in 1660 Richard Shaw, son of Edmund/Edward Shaw and unknown wife of East Hampton. Richard was probably about 25 years old when he married Remember. The Shaws lived next door north to the Garlicks."^[3]
